Project Engineer – Renewable Energy, Romania

ATA Renewables is expanding in Romania and is looking for an accomplished and enthusiastic engineer to strengthen our local presence.

We are open to professionals at different stages of their careers—from experienced project engineers to senior specialists with more than ten years in the industry. The scope, level of responsibility and position will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience and expertise.

This is an opportunity to take a meaningful role in the delivery of solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects while contributing to ATA Renewables’ continued growth in Romania.


Your role


  • Depending on your level of seniority, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supervising and coordinating PV and BESS projects in Romania.

  • Monitoring project progress, quality and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Managing relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying technical and commercial risks and developing effective solutions.
  • Providing insight into the Romanian renewable energy market, its regulations and local practices.
  • Supporting strategic decisions and business development opportunities.

  • Mentoring colleagues and contributing to the development of the local team.
  • Representing ATA Renewables with clients and industry partners.
  • Travelling to project sites when required.

Minimum requirements


  • A degree in electrical, civil, mechanical or energy engineering.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in renewable energy, construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Romanian market and local industry environment.
  • Professional proficiency in Romanian and English.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work with a high degree of ownership.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Spanish is an advantage, but not essential.
