Senior Permitting Italy Expert

In ATA Renewables we're seeking a highly motivated Mid-Senior Permitting/Environmental Advisor to join our dynamic team, contributing to renewable energy projects across Italy. The ideal candidate will have expertise in permitting processes and environmental constraint analysis, , and ideally compliance with grid connection codes. This role demands proficiency in cutting-edge software tools and fluency in multiple languages to ensure seamless communication with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Permitting Process: Manage end-to-end permitting for renewable energy projects in Italy, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
  • Environmental Constraint Analysis: Conduct in-depth studies to assess potential environmental impacts on solar energy projects.
  • Utilize QGIS, PVcase, and PVsyst for project planning and simulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external consultants to deliver projects on time.
  • Prepare and present reports to stakeholders in Italian and English; Spanish is a plus.

Minimum requirements


  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years in environmental advisory roles within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV projects.
  • Languages: Fluency in Italian and English (both written and spoken); proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills:

o Advanced knowledge of QGIS for spatial analysis.

o Expertise in PVcase and PVsyst for solar PV design and performance simulations.

o Familiarity with grid connection codes and requirements in Italy.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
